Flexible insulation allows you to adjust the layer to the shape of specific hot surfaces. For the duct, however, you must first determine whether its construction allows this type of insulation. The material should not accidentally cover joints, supports, or points needed for later inspection.
Determine the location and working conditions
Ceramic Fibre Blanket is a ceramic fibre blanket with a declared resistance up to 1260°C. The selection also includes thickness, format, and shielding requirements. The fibre temperature alone does not determine the temperature of the external surface of the complete duct.
Check the system documentation, permitted insulation, and the actual substrate. Record the layer layout and access to joints. Do not treat pipe wrapping as a complete chimney penetration through a wall or roof of any construction.
Maintain continuity without accidental compression
Fit the format cold, paying attention to corners and ends. Stretching or excessive pressing can change the planned thickness. The method of retaining the layer should correspond to the movement and geometry of the specific solution.
Ceramic Fibre Adhesive is used for the described connections of insulation compatible with the substrate. The adhesive has its own preparation and scope. It does not automatically replace all shields and supports provided for the entire system.
Secure the surface and access
fibres should remain protected according to the solution, also at the edges. When trimming, follow the product safety data sheet requirements. Check for contact with moisture, tools, and other materials, instead of focusing solely on the hot side.
Ceramic Fibre Board is a rigid insulation format with other installation requirements. Choose both materials according to the function of the location. Keep photos of the applied layer and product markings; a later review will allow comparison of details without guessing what is under the cover.
